Return of the King

This 30 minute video tells the story of the orca-salmon connection in our region. The video delivers first a deep understanding about resident orcas, the salmon eating culture of Killer Whales which established in the Salish Sea after the glaciers retreated from the region some 13,000 years ago.  By example of this unique fish eating orca culture the video then explores the importance of salmon for this region, the complexity of the food involving salmon and how we, as a western society, are meddling with it. The video also establishes the complexity of the Pacific Northwest salmon runs and their native rivers and what salmon runs really mean to the wider water shed including ourselves and our quality of life.
